Don’t just make a mental note, actually take out a piece of paper
and write down the objective of your marketing plan.

few great examples of a clear and measurable marketing objectives:
|
Effective Marketing
Objectives |
- Increase Saturday sales by 50%
|
- Turn 25% of first-time customers into repeat customers
|
- Fill my contact database with 25,000 hot prospects
|
The reason
why the Marketing Investor writes down their objective is because
they are betting on one stunning fact:
98% of their competition will not
even bother to take the time to write down their marketing
objectives.
This is why
the marketing investor wins every time – because they know where
they are going – and with their goal in hand – the set out to find
the tools to get them there.

Advice
By Marty Wisher
"Help ! I'm trying to faux finish my wall and it looks nothing like
the picture on the kit I bought."
I get this call at least once a month. People trying their luck at
doing their own faux painting buy "kits" from the local home
improvement store. The kits advertise just how simple the process
can be. However, there are a few things those handy dandy kits don't
tell you.
The most common problem people encounter is overlap lines. Put
simply , your arms can only reach so far as you rub on and off the
glaze. As you move down to the next section, you have to overlap,
but this creates a "seam." My advice is to practice on a board first
if you are not familiar with faux painting; it takes a little
longer, but worth it. You need to get familiar with the proportions
of paint to glaze and how the glaze works as you move along each
section. Don't be afraid of the "seams." Once you get a rhythm
you'll see that although the seam can't be avoided, it can become
part of the beauty of the highs and lows of the faux effect.
Another good tip is to keep the sections you are painting at random
shapes. Also, avoid working in square or round sections ( the kits
usually don't tell you that either ). Tools are extremely important.
Always use a natural sponge, not a synthetic one. ( This is
extremely important!). Try practicing rubbing off with different
types of cotton cloths. The weaves, weight, and texture create very
different looks. Find the one you like that matches the effect you
are going for. The paint is also extremely important. Use a good
quality paint, avoid using old paint. If it has been sitting in the
garage for while make sure it is still good and properly stirred.
Trying to cut a corner or two by using old products will only make
your job harder, or even impossible. Faux painting is a fun and
beautiful way to bring life to a room when done correctly. But
remember it is not as easy as some claim, and can ruin the effect
you are trying to achieve.
Of course, there is an easy way you can always guarantee your dream
will come true, you can call me to do it for you while you just
relax at the beach!
